Exactly. Handing in CV in person is a lot more effective. The general consensus is it's becoming a tradition to apply online, but if you read statistics, people applying in person are unemployed for a shorter period of time than those applying online.

Handing in a CV? Are you serious? You are out of work with no £ and you see several jobs you want to apply for. You have to pay for the CV's to be printed, get travel money and then turn up unannouced at the company offices to hand it in to whom? Security?

What if the company are advertising without showing their name in the advert and you apply online via a site like Jobsite where they can hide who they are?

What's so wrong in getting off your backside and walking to the place of where your applying to to hand in a cv or asking for an application form there seems to be a lot of people on here who think the world only exists behind a computer screen

    Sad very very sad

Walking to the place? I dont think I am going to walk 50 mile round trip.

They are not that many jobs in accounts (my field) that will take in a hand delivered CV's as you will not get past security unless you have an appointment with someone.

What about the jobs who want you to apply via the online form they have on their sites?

I tried this, about 90% of places tell you they can't accept it and to apply online.
