Friday 13th July - What small DFW things will you do?!?
bt1
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Goodness the thread was no where to be found! Where is everyone?
Thanks for starting us, BT1!
DNMS - enjoy the gym. I have been amazed at what the weight training is doing to me - my bum isnt much smaller but its an almost entirely different shape!
Happy gardening, L&N.
Living in suspense here as my boss is negotiating with his higher ups to see what he can offer me to stay. Im strongly leaning towards that option, though the big bucks regional option is still on the cards. Eek eek, full of eek!
Mum is coming for a visit starting tonight and we'll be going away for the weekend, so will have some down time to make a decision.
To do today -
- Bike everywhere (there are rumours of a price rise and people are panic buying - I had to try about 8 petrol stations before I found one that wasnt completely dry)
- double check bookings for weekend in Jinja
- book taxi to airport (not very MSE but no other way at night)
- let roomie make tea
- withdraw some cash for taxi fare etc
- do a bit more work on consulting job
Thats it for today, big hugs to everyone.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Not a very DFW start to the day for me today

£4 = had to catch bus to work as DH is away
£1.89 = bought breakfast out as DH failed to informed me he'd eaten all the bread out of the freezer before he went away on Wed. I didn't bother buying fresh milk yest to save money so couldn't have cereal.
DH is back this eve and wants to meet up for a drink (like we used to do before we started working together) after I finish work but he's paying
£1.23 = kfc-style chicken for tea (73p - yellow stickered from C0-0p) and half a bag of frozen chips (50p) found lurking in the back of the freezer
Lunch was last night's leftovers
Have a good day all xxx0 -
Today:
Posted SOA on here, calculated just how much debt I'm in.
Posted spare gig ticket that I sold on ebay
cashed in £30 worth of coins
Added to my spending diary
Had a very cheap but filling lunch costing about 65p (jacket potato with beans and cheese).
Walked back from job centre after signing off (yay!)
And at 2am this morning made some pennies by doing music reviews online0 -
