Seeking a job as a tech & gadget reviewer

If you're on twitter, then follow @thedigitalfix - they're currently looking for gadget/tech fans to join their review team, just had a tweet about it

So, do visits to a blog translate to cash? where and how can i get companies advertise on my blog?
Would a mere mention of one's company again translate to cash?0 -
I reiterate what has been said above...you're going to have to start this blog for love, not money. Nobody ever starts a blog for money. Why not get a normal job to keep you going while you build this blog up?
Some blog sites will pay you per thousand visitors, but it's peanuts to begin with. A mention of a company will not pay you - they need to have an advert of their own on your blog somewhere and have it seen frequently. A good example of this would be the Wayland Games one on quatro's Space Wolves blog (Nice job btw, Quatro, prefer Eldar myself!).
Also...and I really don't know how to say this in a non-evil manner...but you're really going to have to improve your writing style - correct capitalisation and punctuation. It doesn't matter on here, but techies tend to not want reviews to look like they're written by a schoolkid.
Good luck!

I feel the OP isn't realistic. I work in this field and have to say that if he isn't a good writer, knows nothing about blogs or Search Engine Optimisation the blog isn't likely going to be a success and he won't be able to earn revenue through ads either.
I would start by educating myself about blog writing and go from there.
Like others have pointed out, he's dreaming of a job that 70% of the male population between 21-50 would like to have.......0 -

I saw this and thought of the OP too. It's unpaid though, and the OP seems to be primarily focused on money making.
Your blog would have to be ranked very highly to be able to even attempt to make money from just mentioning a company name...0 -

Not only the men. :rotfl:
OP:
Start writing the blog.
Write good reviews.
Get lots of readers. (and possibly some ad revenue.)
Be able to send those reviews to proper paid review sites.
Possibly get freelance paid reviews to do. (probably very low pay)
Possibly get a 'real job' as a reviewer.
Unfortunately it isn't an easy thing to do and can stall at any stage.0 -
I'm doing this for love. love for my tech and my gadgets. I am just merely asking wether i can make (at the same time) make some money as well.
What i think i need to do is find out how to make a blog, brush on my english writing skills, start reviewing my own tech then wotk my way towards others.
I have a permanent job. I just thought i'll make this out of my heart and also helping people.
And oh..i do have a twitter account as well. It;s UKTechMan76.
So, what you thinbk guys?0 -
And how do you plan to differentiate your 'tech reviews' from all the others?0
