Transfer of Equity problem following a divorce

After a three year divorce through the courts i have been given the buy to let property that was in both our names. My former wife kept the matrimonial home. The problem has arisen during the transfer of equity with Bank of Ireland Mortgages. The original mortgage was with bristol and west but BOI took them over along with the existing mortgages. I made the phone call and was agreed in principle pending the application form. I filled out the application form but was unsure about what address to give for my last three years.
The circumstances for this was I had moved out of the matrimonial home and moved into the Buy to let. I was paying all the mortgages and had more out goings than income. Therefore i asked my sister to move into the Buy to let with me to assist with the bills. This was meant to be on a short term basis but the divorce went on for three years. As you are probably aware by now the transfer of equity is now on hold as the underwriter believes that i am trying to get the mortgage on false pre tense. I thought I was doing my best by ensuring that i could get the payments made on the mortgage. I never missed a payment and am now living at a different address.
Has anyone out there had any similar problems. I have been made to feel like I'm a master criminal trying to de fraud BOI.

    Irrespective of why you took the course of action you did. You were in breach of your contractual mortgage terms and conditions. By doing so you have broken the trust relationship between yourself and the lender. So there's nothing personal in their attitude as this is a business matter.

    No, insit on a face-to-face meeting and make sure you explain fully - backed up with as much paperwork as possible if you can find it. Explain everything fully, they are human too. If you don't get satisfaction, insist on a face-to-face meeting with somebody higher up.
  • Thanks for that. I still think in the back of my head that the bank are looking for ways to get me off the very good rate. I'm on 1.75% at the moment. I guess were all human so i will request a one to one meeting. thanks again..
