Scarva was a big training camp for the Williamite army before the Battle of the Boyne. The village is therefore heavily linked to the cult of William and Mary.

All to do with the cult of William and Mary and the Williamite intervention against James II. Hardly foreign old bean, it was fought on Irish soil and involved many thousands of Irishman, as well as a few Scots, English, Welsh, German, Dutch *an Uncle Tom Cobbley an aaaalllllllll*

Oh yeah - an the Pope, although I don't think he did much in the way of fighting. Mind you, after a few drinks in those days - who knows ;)

Well they were hosting the European Championships that year. That's always a recipe for different supporters having a scrap. :D

Well i'm going for James, though think the odds should be a big better. But after all, he's due a win. Might be a bit like the Foinavon Grand National. I mean William has a bit of form falling from a horse so James may just nick it.

I would save my money and go for William, believe the Pope is putting a few quid on him winning and got the Dutch blue guards on his side.:rotfl:

James at 100/1 looks good, but after he came out with the divine right to rule statement, the Pope got very angry:D

I think an awful lot depends on who gets the uphill slope in the Demense ;)
