Stakeholder choices

Hi Everybody,

What do you think of a Stakeholder with Prudential vs. Standard vs. Legal&General.

Would going with a discount broker lioke Cavendish be a lot cheaper than direct?

Wouldnt touch Prus stakeholder (not even sure it is a stakeholder but a PPP). Standard Lifes is bog standard although decent fund range. L&G stakeholder is cheap but service is poor.

Alternatives that I have been using more recently are Clerical Medical: Discounted fund charges, above average fund range and excellent service. Scot Widows: standard 1% amc but excellent service and decent fund range (avoid buying through LTSB). Scottish Life: discounted amcs, decent fund range, excellent service. Friends Prov: 1%amc but good fund range (particulary on low risk funds) and excellent service.

There are others I use but out of the three you mentioned, L&G is the strongest but to give you an idea on service, I placed 3 applications with them in January and only got the policy documents in March. I spoke with the rep who told me they have a backlog and I wont be using them again until that is cleared.
