Job Seekers and College HELP

Greetings money savers,
Im not going to bat around the bush, diving straight in.
In March 2011 i began yet another JSA claim, and decided to go to college, after checking with JSP i was told i could attend if it was less than 16 hours (it was 15 hours) and i would still look for work, which i did.
I claimed JSA and studied successfully up until May 2012. In May i was told by a JSP worker at my job center that because i had been accepted to UNiversity to start in September 2012 i would have to stop my claim, which i did. I was then told by another worker that this was incorrect and i could actually claim up until i went to university.
SO on the 8th June 12 i began another claim for jobseekers and had an initial interview the following week and began to attend the job center to sign on. I signed on twice before i was told that my claim would not actually start until 1st July.
Basically they claim that because my corse was not finished until 30th June, I could not claim JSA during the period of 8th-30th June as the corse was full time!!!
I called today and i was directed to the enquiries line, then passed back to the job center then back to enquiries. They say that anything over 12 hours is classed as full time, which i know is a lie.
my college tutor confirmed that the corse is 15 hours and part time. But how on earth can they pay me JSA from September 2011 to May 2012 without a single problem, but now its a huge problem?
Its probably worth mentioning that while attending college, i missed numerous classes to sign on and to attend the work programme an also job interviews.
Does anyone have any advice so i can get this sorted?
Many thanks in advance
