Hi All
Is there any way to find out how much my credit card debt has been sold for to a debt collection agency?
For Example I believe that say a £4000 can be bought for as low as £400 or less if a very old debt say 5 years ?
Is there any way "Under The Freedom Of Information Act" of getting this information From say "BARCLAYCARD" or From a solicitors who are acting on behalf of the Debt Collection Agency????
Many thanks to All that may be able to help me with a reply to this :)

No, it's nothing to do with you how much they paid.
However, a 5 year old debt would almost certainly be worth nothing (especially if it's on the verge of being statute barred)0 -
wow thats a BIT Offensive !!!! WHY NOT ITS MY MONEY THEY WANT!!!!:mad:0

On the brighter side, now it has been sold the company that has the debt is far more likely to settle for a full & final offer at a heavily reduced price.0

Why don't you offer them a silly amount and just see...0

youve got no chance at them telling you how much they paid for it unfortunately but its likely to be around 25% or less than the original debtSealed pot challenger # 10

No - it is their money and they want it back.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
freedom of information covers public services, not private sectorDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

You are unlikely to ever find out.
Was reading a court case a little whole ago, and if I recall correctly even the court refused to make an order requiring the collector to disclose what they had paid, as the information was commercially sensitive and purely a private contractual matter between the buyer and the seller.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
