Thursday 12th July - What small DFW things will you do?!?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:
Morning  wow I can't believe its only Thursday! How long is this week????
Hope everyone is chipper and the sun is shining - rained so hard here yesterday
Things for today:
Ok that's all I can think of... Have a great day - hope it goes quickly!

You just beat me!!

Attempted to go running last night, did about 2 strides and then I starting getting a stabbing pain in my hip. I went home to bed and it's feeling better today! Phew! So I'm going to go swimming tonight, will be 2/10 to cover the cost of the joining fee!!
List for today:
- check bank
- check cc
- PAD
- lunch from home
- 2l of water
- call vanquis for the 4th time as I still haven't received the credit in my account!
- print of ACCA notes, didn't get a chance yesterday- was so busy!
Will probably add more stuff later

good morning, ladies!

ET1 Yikes, was it a muscle sort of pain or a joint pain? do you get any pain at all there while swimming?
Great news on the weight loss, Carrie! What's your secret?
Hello all, have been in the field for the last few days. Before I left I confessed my job hunt to my boss and he totally mucked everything up by offering me something amazing if I stay! Less money but experience that I really want and dont know how Id get otherwise.
Now I'm very conflicted and dont know what Im going to do. Doesnt help that OH is in China and isnt answering my emails.
I just set myself a new challenge in my siggy - seems sort of crazy, especially if I stay here, but good to dream big I suppose.
Anyway, in MSE today:
- bike everywhere, think I can get another day or two out of this tank
- work travel has totally mucked up meal plan, but buy a pumpkin tonight and make soup for tea
- gym in eve (have just started doing training with the big gents barbells- its changed my shape almost instantly! will keep it up for sure)
- do some consulting work in eve
- torment self over job decision, ask advice from those I can!
- book taxi to pick up mum from Airport on Friday
- sort out expenses for trip as I didnt have time to do them in advance
Thanks, everyone.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000
Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Nototbadyet - eek at the job dilemma! My advice is to go with your gut instinct, but obviously cannot really comment on your situation as have never been begged to stay anywhere :rotfl:
As for the weightloss, I like to calorie count. Plus have cut down on the wine  (hic) as cannot "afford" the calories. I'm quite mathematical so all the numbers and graphs suit my way of thinking!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

Hello!
I think it's been about 6 weeks since I last posted on this thread, and I'm afraid to say I've fallen off the wagon
whilst the debt hasn't increased by much, it still has increased, and it's all been on non-essential spending (however much I managed to convince myself I needed new work clothes at the time!)
However - no point dwelling on the past, so back on the wagon firmly now! Should be able to pay most of the additional CC spends off on payday, as long as I'm good this month and next. So...
Today I will:
Check banks
Check CCs - all expenditure cleared now
Work out budget for next month
Fill up at cheaper petrol station
Check TCB - think I've a few pennies coming to me from there, every little helps!
Food from stores
Fill in calorie tracker (another thing that's gone by the wayside...!)
List a few things on Ebay - getting back into the swing of things by relisting a few rather than going completely into the Ebay process!
Work out how many storage boxes I need from Matalan, and stop by on way home from work to pick them up
Start sorting out bedroom/wardrobe...
2lt water
Catch up on some old threads to see what's been happening!
Work hard!
Thanks to DNMS for starting the thread, congrats on your weight loss Carrie and Mr Carrie, ouch! on the hip BT, take care of yourself and NTBY - hope you don't torment too much over the job decision, whilst the new post may be lower paid, if it's going to help in the long run or is something you'll regret not going for then definitely worth a punt!
Have a great day all!

- Reading more miss minimalist and thinking about clearing out
- Looking into trading books with @mazon - thanks for the tip from yesterday
