Different types of ink?

Hi all,

I'm sorry if this is the wrong board, it's a crafty type question and this seems to be the board for those.

I've got a couple of fountain pens and went to Hobbycraft to get some ink (I like using different colours). I got calligraphy ink, but there was a much bigger choice of colour in acrylic ink.

So, is there much difference? Would I be able to use acrylic ink in my pens or would they get gunked up?

Acrylic ink would clog up a fountain pen - I've read that some people dilute it first but think it's a bit hit and miss so if you're attached to your pens I wouldn't risk it.

Thanks, I'll stick to calligraphy ink then.
