I also consolidated my loans to 1 loan that is an APR of 9.9% but I did also cut my credit cards up and close all other lines of credit.
Consolidating is frowned upon because people run their cards up again but if you do it properly it can be usefulDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Consolidation can work, but you have to be very disciplined and address the issues that got you into debt in the first place.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
