My BF got me a mobile phone contract in his name and I have the direct debit going from my bank account to the network provider. Does this mean we now have a financial association which will affect his credit rating?

No, should not create a financial link.
Regards your entry on the register, they stay visible on the register for 3 months after you are discharged. Only then it is removed.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
