Where's my CD-Drive gone?

All of a sudden my cd drive has disappeared on my pc. The little drawer opens and closes happily but when I try to troubleshoot it I'm told there's an error code 41. Anybody have any idea what's happened and how to get it back again???

That happened to me once...found out eventually that I had somehow 'lost' the drivers. Rolling back the drivers solved it for me.♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0

My cd drive sometimes goes missing if I leave a disc in it when I restart
I think what happens is that when it restarts it looks for a boot disc and when if finds the disc in the drawer is not a boot disc it decides to ignore it - but sometimes it gets mixed up and decides to ignore the whole drive.0
