Mortgage requred

Hi my circumstances are these I earn a good wage at approc 45k, my partner earns approx 12k per annum.

She has almost a non-existent credit profile as she has never borrowed money in her life. I used to have a poor one, on experian it went as low as 300 but now its fair and getting better when one institution finally pulls its finger out and removes an unwarranted default from my file. This should be done in the next 10 days or so

We have 15k in savings and we are looking at getting a shared ownership house or a house approx value 100k. The trouble is when we applied for a mortage santander and halifax turned our joint one down, this was before I checked my file (i know now to check before doing anything) so im worried we will never get a mortgage.

Are there any mortgages for somebody in our situation?

What are the reasons behind your poor credit standing. History of defaults, late payments?

I used to be quite poor at paying things, only have one default on my experian credit file that relates to something i challenged and they are removing the default from my history. problem is probably about 2 years ago i became heavily reliant on pay day loans which were all aid back on time but when there all on the credit report it doesnt look great even though the score maybe fair
