the active ingredient of G.H.3 is procaine. Procaine is an ester composed of PABA (Para-aminobenzoic acid) and DEAE (diethyl-aminoethanol). Both of these are water soluble B-vtamins. PABA stimulates the production of folic acid and vitamins K and B1. It has the greatest beneficial effects in the hair, glands and intestines. DEAE is a precursor to choline and acetlycholine. I went as far as looking both ingredients up on the internet.
Firstly neither of them is a vitamin, which should immediately ring alarm bells over any other claims the manufacturers make.
PABA used to be used in sun screen but is now thought to cause skin cancer.
DEAE is not approved as a food additive as far as I can find. It is used to prevent corrosion in boilers. Here is an American scientific review (PDF document) which concludes it "should remain prohibited in organic handling"
Up to you but I wouldn't swallow them if they paid me.0 -
I found some more on the end product, which emerged from Romania in the 1950s.
Various studies found little or no health benefits and one found "It has caused low blood pressure, respiratory difficulties, and convulsions in some users."0 -

Lol - I think you are right. I assumed it was tablets because of the talk of vitamins and the effect on the intestines. Don't think I'll eat it or slap it on my head though.0
