My tenants in London let Alkanet run wild. Have you ever tried to dig it up? The roots are as thick as your finger!
Here, my lawn is full of it every spring, and I put Roundup on it, as it's the only thing that works. Once you start cutting the grass, it can't prosper.0 -
Hell, mila, there were places in southern England without electicity and running water as late as the 1960s.
In the mid 1950s, my parents lived in a house with no electricity.
They had a coal fire, a gas cooker, and gas lighting.
It was still without electricity when they moved out, a few years later, so they didn't know when (or if) electricity was installed.0 -
Be careful with alkanet. Some variants of it can cause a burn-like skin reaction.0

Not exactly I don't.
I take a daysack to work with me, which (in addition to my work stuff) contains a few SHTF essentials, and I carry a survival tin in my jacket pocket.
If I'm travelling further afield, my BOB goes in the boot.0 -

I always use a rucksack and I ALWAYS have my survival tin in the tiny front pocket, no use to me if it's at home and I'm having a problem when I'm out without it!0
