Horizontal snow up here Bob. Pits lol0

It's sunny out there at the moment but difficult to stay upright as the wind is so strong. It's the gusts in it that are causing problems though my neighbour just brought back the corrugated roofing from one of the woodstores which had gone over the fence some time last night and we almost had a tragedy across the solent in Fawley when the wind actually flipped over a small tug boat. One of the two men inside was in the water and managed to get to shore but the other was missing until a refiinery worker saw an arm through the window of the upturned boat and jumped in and smashed the window and got the man out, just before the boat sank, lucky escape of the year or what? Whoever the refinery man was deserves an award for heroism I think!!!0

Definitely heroic! My great grandfather died like that - he was the engineer on a tugboat when the tow-rope snapped, the ship turned turtle and sank, all hands lost2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I saw that thing about the tug boat capsize on the newspaper website and thought of you, MrsLW. Thank gawd the second man was rescued.
Well, we have had mostly dry weather but the windspeeds have been crazy. You didn't know wheelie bins could fly, did you?! They're flying today, empty or full, people could do with some of those special docking brackets they had in the Outer Hebrides to hold them in situ and keep the lids down.Lost a fair few trees overnight and daytime today. Mixture of highways trees, park trees and private trees in gardens. I was ringing yet another one across to the arbori-wotsit and remarked that it was really bad considering the leaves aren't even out yet, and he agreed that this blustery weather in two months time would take an even worse toll.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

No offence, but that won't be much use, on anything but a pan/stove fire.0
