  • ways to heat/cook things

Camping stove from B&M Bargains, for £8-99.
and with the winter coming in a couple of months, ways to keep warm :)

    That's the easy one.

Take to your bed, with either a hot water bottle or (and this is much more fun) someone else.

SR, you need to get one of Bedsit Bobs camping stoves.

    Not likely.

Let them buy one of their own. :p

Or at least a cheap Wilko's micro stove (less than a fiver) and some gas canisters.

Is it a Pocket Rocket type stove?

If so, something similar is available from Amazon UK, for £3-57, with free UK delivery.

BTW. I do agree about the flat stove being better for home use.

Has anyone done any of the Saint John's First aid courses?

I've not done a St John course, but I did one run in house, by my company.

Are you still talking about w**king, Bob? Who'd have thought you could cook on one of those. :)

However the flat mini gas cooker is more stable and may be better in a house with little ones.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, will definitely look into the flat stove for home use. With summer coming to an end I may even get a little camping stove if they end up in the sale as well.

Many years ago we were climbing into bed when my husband let out a blood curdling scream...he had seen a huge spider go behind the curtain. He rushed for a big jam jar and the spider was too big to go into it......so he got a shoe box and flicked the spider into it with his slipper......he then proceeded to throw the box and all through the open window into the garden. He swears the spider was looking at him and clicking at him menacingly.

When we moved to Corfu we saw a big spider moving up the wall towards the open window. My husband tried to flick it off the wall with a sweeping brush, only to find that the thousands of baby spiders on it's back scattered and ran into the open window. We had to sleep in the living room till we caught them all .

We are in the middle of a heat wave here with very high humidity . It is 41 in the shade to day and will stay there till Sunday when we are forecast to get high winds. It is too hot for me today. Hope you are all well and having a good day xxxxx
