    :D Respect!

And if they happened to be a horned variety of sheep, possibly drinking horns and horn buttons and craft work. You could dress out the skins and stretch them over a frame of bent willow or hazel wands and paddle your coracle over to the mainland and dilly-dally down Sarf.

Thanks GQ - the programme was a LONG time ago so have had a lot of time for ideas to bubble away in the back of my brain.

forgot the basic - unless recently shorn, "shear" the fleece, clean process and spin the wool.

The strange thing is (and I am not sure if its a good thing or not) the tourists are still here till 25th October and they are completely oblivious to the things that are going on. Of course, they deserve a good holiday as they have paid a lot of hard earned money and waited for their break in the sun. But I do think its wiser to know what is going on around you.

Ones who have spoken to me have only been worried in case the euro crashes and they have already changed their money to it. It's a shame that they can't see how serious this is to the Greeks and their families and all the people who live here.

Still looking on the bright side of things and trying to remain optimistic that it will all turn out in the end. The problem is there are so many things all happening at the same time. I wonder if it will settle down in the winter and we will all return to the usual laid back life and card games by the roaring fire?

Or will mass panic set in as people start to realise we are getting nearer to December 12/21/22nd...whatever the date is? I am not worried, I am going to get our Christmas stocks in and I shall indulge myself in Orange flavour Bailey's and a good few bars of nice chocolate should things look dodgy on any of the above dates LOL

I agree I would rather know and had my trusty little led torch/lantern in my bag! Thanks to your posts and other reading (you tube etc) we were very aware of the problems when we went to Zante but there were no clues there of the problems Greece is going through, other than the worry over whether the tourists were going to come over still. It was very quiet and obvious the shop keepers and bar owners were rather down, but very friendly and welcoming to those of us that did turn up. We got talking to the local folk working over there and found out that they work so hard during the summer because there is nothing in the winter.
Most of the waitresses have really good degrees but summer waitressing is all they can get in the way of work! A lot are supporting families and very worried about what is to come!

I am guessing the government are keeping a lid on it all in order to keep the tourists much needed money coming in.

I made the yogurt and drained it through muslin but it still is nowhere near as nice as the greek yogurt we had. Nearest we can get is the Total greek yogurt that Mr S sells but that costs £2.39 for a pot!!!! Tempted to look at the system Lakeland sell as friends tell me that makes great yogurt!

I am joining in Frugal Queens Stoptober and living off stores as much as possible. Making food go as far as I can in order to get prepping. Prepping for me is becoming as self sufficient as I can in an urban environment!

Tonight we will have a stir fry using up as much as possible! I am also stocking the freezer with hm soups, making one a day in the slowcooker and freezing in takeaway 1 - 2 portion containers.

Stay safe 2tonsils and hope you and your oh feel better soon, also Mardatha (((hugs))) ME is horrible isn't it? Feet up and plenty of rest if you can, pacing can help but difficult to stick to in reality!

You'd probably be able to pick up a lifestraw for that on ebay but would have to wait for it from abroad maybe?
Hopefully someone else may have another source for you :D

I have aqua pure bottles and for us I think they are worth the little extra I paid but obviously it can get pricey if you need more than one

I found a good buy in my local Tesco today on their clear out shelves...six of these for 79p each and they fit my gas lamp, my Bluet screw on cooking ring and my CampingGaz Party Grill. (Which I bought in a sale at Asda six years ago for a tenner. Great little item!) There's a lot of weird and wonderful things on clearance atm, the branches are obviously clearing out the dark corners of the stock rooms before Christmas. Well worth a look if you're in your own local Tesco.

I got a water filter jug and a set of spare cartridges for about eleven pounds in Wilkinsons when I was in the UK.
