I went to Ikea today and they have reduced some wall candle sconces with big copper coloured reflectors that I've been coveting for a long time down from £15 each to £7 each and as we came second in the pub quiz last week I have invested my winnings and aquired two of them. They take a big pillar candle and I'm geniunely amazed at the amount of light the reflectors are pushing out from behind the candle. I think they are a very good investment and they are called ANGENAM. There were half a dozen of them on the shelf so if anyone is interested it might be worth a look, Lyn xxx.0

Personally I'll continue to work on making the house more energy effficient (the summer is a good time to pick up cheap/free insulation) and building up a woodpile. No wood-burning stove yet but if the gas gets cut off I think we have some trendier neighbours who would be willing to share their facilities if we could supply fuel
We invested in a multifuel stove just before Christmas and DH has just built a wood store and coal bunker (Might get him to build another one of each just in case) We have started filling the woodstore and are buying a couple of bags of coal a week to build up a good stock before winter gets here.
Not bad from old pallets
I will be offline for a few days because I am having my first carpal tunnel done tomorrow.
Byeeeeee for now xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Was it here that someone mentioned they had laid in stocks of tinned pât! recently?
I'd forgotten that as a child that was how we bought it, but I haven't seen any for years. Where do they sell it?
Edit: Bl**dy hell. I don't know what's wrong with the word P â t (acute e).:)0 -

JKO look in the Polish section of world foods in Mr.T and you will find tins of p a t e and also foil tins of the same. A health food shop will have tubes of Granose p a t e in various flavours and if you get to the near continent, or know anyone who is going you will get glass jars of p a t e in lots of different meats. Hope that helps, Lyn xxx. If you have a B & M anywhere in reach they often have the small foil tins in packs of 3 and there is one decent portion in each tin so no opened tins to keep cool as you can use it all at once.0
