Hester from the reports I have read of how you are treated at work they might well realise there is little to complain about and more about their mistreatment of you ! I fondly remember the tale f how you got 2 e mails about a cupboard that one day they said must be locked and the next day saying it had to be left unlocked - ineptitude in action on their part.

As for bra's I now wear those stretchy sporty ones that are totally comfy but a bu**er to get on with arthur-itis. Well worth it as I rarely get those moments when your body decides it has to come off for sanitys sake :D

:T Brill. Should have finished eating supper before watching that, tho.

Well, the RNLI ad vanished and was replaced by ads for Fin Times and Microsarft. Which have now been replaced with one I've seen a lot of; for hair transplants. At least the bra ads have gone.

So, a typical ZH reader is a balding middle-aged guy instead of a luxuriantly locked middle-aged woman. Albeit one with a deficiency in the underwear department.

Hester, if/when they actually give you some examples of mistakes you've made, make sure they were from BEFORE your meeting, not after. If they've brought up mistakes you've made, they must have happened in the past, eh? ;)

Anyone else tried one of those candle-powered-upside-down-terracotta-pot heaters? I have one set up with 4 tealights in and it's cranking out the heat. Not over a huge distance, it seems to be covering about 8" before the heat dies off, but it's keeping me nice and warm. The post itself is rather too hot to touch, at about 130 degrees Centigrade. Not something I'd recommend if you have animals or children about, but it's definitely doing the job.

GreyQueen, if you're using Firefox, there's an addon called Collusion that will show you who is putting cookies onto your machine and how you're being tracked by them. Linky.

I'm a bit past the balding stage, but otherwise, that's me to a tee. :)

Actually I think it's pretty rubbish.

It works as a pallet, but it's roughly made.

All pallets are roughly made so you have created an authentic copy ;)

Yes, we have spreadsheets like that too. Our appraisals are very depressing - most of us feel worse when we come out than when we went in.

As I only work two days a week, my monthly appraisal happens every 8 working days - for a full timer, they'd be appraised every week and a half! It's ludicrious, really.

All I can say in open mouthed astonishment is !!!!!!??? It's nothing short of harassment.

  • Hello All
Once again on catch up! Minor SHTF ear infection still ongoing, had to go back to docs who (after ears "syringed" ) said it still looks very sore. My response was its a 100% better than Monday! I was in bloody agony then!! Back on anti bionics, 2nd time in 30+ years, two weeks running! Still make me feel like hell but on plus side cant face eating so should should loose a bit of flab!

Prepping wise very little done unless you count quietly collecting festive food!
Oh! I got a great book in local charity shop, 50 ways to kill a slug!, best 50p I've ever spent, lots of ideas on how to murder the little bu**ers or get rid from the veg patch!!

Also got "How to fossilize your Hamster" and "Why is snot green!" dont ask!! I buy strangely titled books and leave them on my coffee table, kitchen table or desk at work, but then again I am weird!

Still ongoing with learning to sew, never did any at school as that was one of the afternoons I habitually skived off, either riding my pony or "foraging"/"stealing" fruit etc from the nearby fields, I scrumped from an early age as mum always turned my offerings into puddings , jams etc

I am employed at a Credit Union, I love my job as there is no appraisals or even management! we all just get on with what we know needs doing! No-one nagging, or targets etc and as a result it all gets done without any problems! A lot of the jobs are done by volunteers and it makes for a very close knit team who all support each other and no back stabbing or competition. I dont think I could ever go back to a job that required constant monitoring, I would probaby tell them to stick it!!

On the bra front, try riding a horse with an ill fitting bra!! You either fall out the front or knock yourself out when trotting! I find the sports bras quite uncomfortable although supportive, not used to being strapped in, much happier "free"!!! LOL

Anyone else looking at the xmas candles and thinking of cut price preps after the big day, I cant help it! I will be scouring the shops for bargains as soon as I can ( also cards, paper, decs and anything else christmassy that can be put away).

I seem to be obsessed with YS bargains at the moment. I have a fridge full of cut price veg, herbs (10p) ready for the drier and pots, squash and onions (all YS) stored ready to use. The freezers are groaning with bargains, most meals have at least one element of bargain!

Just remembered on prepping front I bought a 12' shipping container, the inside converted to an office by being totally lined with ply and all dry and rodent safe. I essentially bought it to put some tools, machinery and saddlery in but I will sneak some preps in as it is like a big pantry! LOL

Bedsit Bob, you would be better off with a farmhouse with a spring or clean stream close by. My House has the spring right outside the back door. What the local farmer does is he has the stream water running through the storage containers so they dont get stale, he can store a lot of fresh water and have it running into drinkers for livestock along the route. When the stream gets low the water in the containers is used as a back up for the drinkers. As the stream rises close by there is little chance of contamination by dead sheep or anything else inconsiderately dying whilst paddling. In a SHTF situation where water has been contaminated the whole sytem could be shut down leaving the big storage containers.

Anyway I seem to have rambled on again, I blame the antibionics!
