Boyfriend (by then Husband's) 30th Birthday

Hi all

My boyf turns 30 a couple of weeks after we get married, so I want to plan his presents now as I am sure that I will soon be overcome by wedding plans and then with delivery times etc I won't have time to buy things after we are married(!)

So, I have bought him a vinyl of the record that was number 1 when he was born and a football program from his teams football match from day after he was born. I also plan to buy some retro sweets......what else?!

Not sure whether to make a 1980's /1982 hamper or do a 30 presents for 30th birthday type thing (found a thread on here someone did on here - 30 presents for my girlfriends 30th' - but very make=up /beauty oriented so can't copy the ideas!

All thougths welcome, don't know what to do, but started saving AGES ago, before he proposed and wedding took all our spare funds, so have a healthy budget

He is into music and football............

Thanks!!!

  • That is really sweet.

To be blunt the fact that you are putting all this thought in is enough.
Though a little memory for each of the 30 yrs with a picture of him or something special to him from that time. Though it may be hard getting all the needed info in time.

i did 30 things for hubbys 30th a few years ago and tbh i dont think he really 'got' it. he was pretty bored after opening the 5th one, and seeing as there were 30 things they were all pretty cheap (some useful like lotto ticket, miniature etc) but feel it was wasted on him, he would rather of had something for his studio (he's into music production) and a big party - something he still goes on about now that he never had a surprise party, think he was pretty gutted tbh lol

I'm sure having you as his new wife will be present enough :D
  • How about an 'Est 1982' or similar t-shirt. Is it Next is 1982? Replay 1981. 1980...? Sorry. Mind has now gone blank....!!! :p

  • The 30 things for his 30th birthday sounds interesting. But it can be very time consuming what with all the wedding planning you will be doing.
  • its my husbands 30th in October this year and I have booked us a weekend in barcelona and we will go see a FC Barcelona match as they are his fav euro team. He has no idea either. But that is a couple weeks after his bday so trying to plan something to do on his actual bday with all his family!
