Getting a mortgage with a default on your file

Hi
My partner and I are looking at going for a mortgage again we did have one in place before but due to the plug being pulled by the sellers we were unable to keep the mortgage due to the lender (bank) changing there points system.
we did try with other banks but didnt have any luck and think this was due to a default which was added to my credit file this year from 2007 ( which i am fighting at this time to be removed ).
We still have a savings of £25000 so would be looking at a 90% mortgage , My partner has a perfect credit file and mine has a score of 950 but with a few defaults including the one mentioned before.
Is it worth looking into applying for another mortgage or holding back and if so how long for ?

Scores are irrelevant unfortunately, what is important is your actual file.
Deposit % is huge, at 90% it is unlikely with defaults you will get.
Can OH afford on own salary?
Is the default/s showing on Experian, Equifax and CallCredit?I am a Mortgage Broker
