Kitchen flipdown tv and radio

I was looking for a kitchen tv to go under the cupboards. This one has radio and TV but no CD/DVD which I wanted but can get by without really seeing as one with that is about £249 at the moment! B&Q have got a deal on at the moment for the :
Curtis 7" Flip Down LCD TV - KCR2610 - Silver Effect And Black
Link I had was http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9380535&fh_search=flip+tv&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1174435836359 but wasn't sure if it'd work.
Ordering on line it is £99.99. Went to local B&Q and it was £149 and they wouldn't price match - gits - so bought online.
Seems quite a good deal to me seeing as most kitchen tvs I've looked at before are £200+.

this looks a great bargain but you can get them for under units
with built in freeview so these might be a problem when the switch
over to digital takes place.
So this could be why they are on offer, unless I read it wrong.
We are in cumbria and our switch over starts this october.0 -

You mean there is a pilot scheme operating in Whitehaven only from 17th October 2007. Border TV region is not due to switch until end of 2008 and we've already been told it'll probably slip to 1st quarter 2009.All the World is a Stage; and I'm going through a difficult one at the moment!0 -
Good point. In our house I've piped our Sky / video / freeview etc. around the house on coax anyway and I've got an outlet in the kitchen. As long as I want to watch whatever is on the main tv I should be ok even after switchover.0

Well I'm not sure if you've gone out and got one yet, but I bought one of these back in Feb07 for £99 picked up in store..
BUT : My main problem is reliability, I'm not sure if I've had TWO rogue units but the backlight on the LCD has gone TWICE, first one after 3 months, and again after 6 weeks!! It doesn't get steamed up near the cooker or kettle so get it swapped again at the local B&Q, maybe 3rd time lucky ????
There is a quiet (but noticable) buzzing from the transformer in the unit when switched on at the mains which is annoying when it's quiet in the room (because of this I have been turning it off at the wall socket when not in use) good for the "standby environment" not a problem with the clock as I don't need this and is does keep the stored channels when powered off..
It is also a minor gripe that when you set the screen ratio to 4:3, which is the format of the current analogue transmissions you loose about 1/2 an inch from the left and right of the screen for it to fit giving you effectively a 6" screen !!!
I distribute my Sky and Freeview boxes through the RF and these are widescreen 16:9 signals so the picture fills the screen nicely but you cannot specify a different ration for each channel so have to change the setting everytime..0 -
Netto had these on offer yesterday for £99.99, looked ok.0
