I had these in a rented house and I just got all the pesticides I could - you need a cypermethrin based spray. I also spent a weekend washing all of our clothes, and bagged and plastic boxed anything loose. I also vacuumed like a demon for a couple of weeks. They're definitely something you need to get a hold on, as whilst they're not 'dangerous' they can cause an awful lot of damage to anything that's made of natural fibres.
We've moved since but I still keep an eye out for them. I have lots of cedar balls in my drawers and wardrobe as they're a good preventative. However that sort of stuff won't get rid of them if you've got an infestation.0 -

I think they're one and the same, certainly google brings up the same pics for either0 -
We had case making carpet moths (you'll know these if you've got them as they leave little white cases around) - killed them off by hoovering seriously, cleaning the carpet with our Bissell cleaner, and then treating with a cypermethrin spray. (You can get these online). They tend to congregate in hidden places and then chew the carpet threadbare!Adventure before Dementia!0

Carpet chewing along edges and in corners is also a sign of "woolly bears" - look out for small beetles like a smaller b/w ladybird - I won't have wool carpets anymore, not worth seeing them disappearYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0
