I'd agree that you should contact your local homeless shelter/women's refuge. Here in London, the Whitechapel shelter http://www.whitechapel.org.uk/ are always grateful for toiletries, or you could try http://www.womensaid.org.uk/ or http://www.emmaus.org.uk/.
Even if it's not something you would want to use, remember that many people are just happy to have the opportunity to have a shower, and toiletries to call their own, and are very grateful to receive unwanted smellies!

If you can't find a chairty to take it, just put it on freecycle. Someone will be grateful for it.

Would chairty shops or shelters take this stuff? The bottles aren't sealed in any way, just have a screw-on cap, so could they guarantee the products hadn't been tampered with in any way? Obviously I wouldn't do anything like that, but in these day of Health and Safety legislation, would it be possible for them to accept the donation?
If in doubt, ask them. In my experience most will be able to accept them. If you have kids at school and they're always asking for things for school fetes etc, this could be another way to get rid of them. Unopened gift sets are often used as tombola priizes.

This got me thinking (as I have loads and loads of sample bottles). I called my local womens refuge and they are going to come and collect them (obvously they don't usually give out the address of the safe house).

I found the number on here http://www.womensaid.org.uk/default.asp

Our local WRVS take this sort of thing - they use it to make up wash bags to give to people in hospital who have no relatives to bring anything in for them.

That's a really good idea. :T I never even thought about that. When I have some spare toiletries, I'll donate them (will try to remember!... ). It must be horrible to be in hospital with no-one to visit you. :(
Girls just want to have funds
