Hi all,
So twice now i have had phone calls from the above company,
first time i did not pass security, second time, even with less of the same details they went on to tell me what they had phoned for..
as far as they are concerned, i had a natwest current account that defaulted around 2002-2003, how this happened is beyond me as it was a school leavers account with no overdraft, no DD's setup, and was hardly used as i have been with barclays since i had left school!
There is no record of this on my credit report (i know its over 6 yrs old) and i'v had no letters with regards to this account!
i have asked for a statement to show how i owe this amount, but they are saying they cannot provide one as they do not have one, but they can write to me with a break down to show how they think i owe it, but in order for them to do this i have to write to them first of all requesting a copy??
What is best to do with this company?? i dont want to ignore it but stop it..
Many thanks.
Kris

Debt collectors only try "security thing" as a sop to data protection. They don't really care about it, so will put it to one side if it's inconvenient for them.
Ignore or write. Your call really.
If you write, then a possible letter is in this link.
