Pay of our mortgage????

HI Everyone
As you can no doubt tell this is my first venture into this. What I would like to know is this
My wife and I have both taken early retirement and our pensions we now only work parttime but we still have a small mortgage around 10% of our property value with 8 years left to pay, we have more than double our outstanding mortgage in our savings (in investments not in the bank) thus earning a better than average return. Should (and heres the BIG question) we now pay of our mortgage with part of our savings, it would be our intention to re-invest half of our now monthly mortgage payment back into investments.
Could anyone out there please offer some advice.
Many thanks
