Is it not a bit young to do this? she won't really know what its all about anyway.! my daughter was 10 months at her first christmas and i just got her a couple of things like rattles etc for her to play with on the day.

I think I would put a copy of 'The Night Before Christmas' in - I bought my daughter a beautifully illustrated copy when she was four, and every Christmas Eve, I read it to my children (daughter is now 21, and I have two boys aged 12 and 14). It has become a family tradition that my daughgter wants to carry on when she has children herself - which won't be for a while yet!

A book with Christmas songs and carols might be nice, especially of there is a CD with it. You can often pick these up in the pound shops later in the year.

You could also include a Christmas stocking to be filled in later years.

Baby's First Christmas bauble to be added to the tree on Christmas Eve.

    Christmas bibs.

i would do the santa key, and reindeer food etc
not so much because she will remember
but more so it starts a tradition, and the key can be used in subsequent years

I wouldn't go overboard as she won't remember as others have said.

I love someone else's idea of a book that can be read to her every year at Christmas and become a tradition, and also a Baby's First Christmas Bauble. You can get these personalised on ebay, or could make yourself.

How about a nice photo album, you can take a photo of her on her first Christmas day, then next year, and fill it up with a Christmas day photo as she grows. Great to look back on!

I'm doing a xmas eve bag for my grandson who will be 13 months at Christmas. Not put a lot in but, as many have already said, hoepfully stuff that will become a tradition.

I too read read my children 'T'was the night before Christmas' and my daughter is equally determined to read it to her son so have bought a copy of the book. Added a Christmas bauble, PJ's and a bib for Christmas Day dinner:)

Loving the idea of a photo album for Christmas Day photos - can't wait to pick one up at the weekend now:rotfl:
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!
