What are your allowances when going for bankrupsy

Hi
I have been reading about bankrupsy and think I understand it as we are allowed to keep personal items and bascs such as furniture etc and that we have to put forward a budget that we have to stick to.
Is there a list somewhere of what and how much is acceptable?
Also if we file for bankrupsy does this mean that we shouldn't get harrassed by our creditors? Also that balliffs won't call until the OR tells them to?
Please excuse these if they are daft questions but it seems a lot to absorb all at once:eek:

Hi Cuddly
As Mikey is a bit out of sorts I`ll give you a bit of info to be going on with.
I haven`t go figures for allowances so Mike will probably get them to you tomorrow
Your creditors will stop hassling you once the OR has notified them of your BR status. This may take a week or two but you can tell any callers that you were declared BR on Date and give your case number and court. This should stop the majority of calls immediately but you will always get one or two who try it on.
Bailiffs will not ( should not) call after you have been declared. if any one contacts you simply refer them to your OR
Best of luck:beer:

Hi Mike
Thanks for that
So would the OR be understanding about something like an ill pet (we have a dog with recurring lumps that have to be removed (£400 a time) He's fine aprt from this and not in pain (apart from the discomfort of the ops which is only for a few days each time) It would be heartbreaking to have to have him destroyed for the sake of money.

Hi,
Don't have him put down - you can get him treated at a PDSA if you have one near you, or the Blue Cross.
Good luck,
