Student tax

I am thinking of going to uni next year to do nursing.

Nurses get a bursary of around £550pcm, what I am wondering is, if I was to get a PT job would my personal allowance take into account my bursary as well as wages ?

I am thinking it would but need to be sure as I need to see if I can afford to leave work to go to university (course itself won't cost as I live in Scotland).

No the bursary is not taxable.

If you're looking into nursing have a look at this forum

    Thanks,

So say my part time job is under my personal allowance (around 8k atm if I remember correctly) then I will pay no tax ?

Will go have a look just now. Have over a year left but need to apply in January I think so want everything in place. I am working full time at the moment so it's going to be a huge jump.
