fairy/pixie dust bags

Hi All,

Was just wondering if anybody had any ideas how i could make some fairy/pixie dust bags,like the reindeer food bags at christmas,but with fairy dust???
was trying to find a little poem i could use and also what would be good to go in the little bags,cheap and cheerful is what im going for.

I was thinking of having a clear bag to put the 'fairy dust' in,any ideas what i could put in it other than glitter?

Sequins would work well

Cellophane bags are available to buy on Amazon or EBay.

I think you can order pretty, cheap draw string bags online? That might give a more authentic fairy look.

Stay clear of glitter as this sticks to fingers and is a nightmare to get out of stuff I think sethsgran's idea of sequins will work very well. If you want something organic you could dry some flower petals and crunch them up? That will also be the cheaper solution.

Or if you want something fun, fill them with popping candy

What about the metallic confetti.

You could use table confetti, its metallic and shiny? You can buy "chunky" glitter as well, it would be bigger than normal glitter? You could organza bags then? there are loads on ebay, if you search organza bag and then sort price + p&p lowest first, there are a lot from overseas, and at the moment they are 1p for 100 with no p&p. Definately worth it in my opinion

as for a poem, just doing a quick google search brought up -

There is no star too far to reach
No dream that may not come true
Sprinkle the fairy dust in the yard
And make a wish so it may come true

If you have a special garden, where fairies come to play
Then take a pinch of fairy dust and sprinkle it all around
The fairies will take notice and at the end of the day

what about making them edible? You can use rainbow dust and layer it in plastic test tubes tied with ribbon (ebay) - or you can use the cake decorating sprinkles, just a thought
