paying loan with life balance credit cards

Hi. i'm new on this and I have tried to follow Martins tips on paying a Lloyds loan with a life balance credit card. To do so, he recommend to use a intermediary credit card call Egg money. The Egg money credit card is a hybrid card, in-credit account that will allow you to pay money directly into your bank account, whilts with a nomal credit card you could only whidraw money to pay the loan on your account -huge charges...

I've been denied the Egg Money credit card and I don't know what else I can do. I want to start an MA in 2009 and I won't be paying off the loan by the time, therefore I won't be able to get a student loan. I'm already 35 and cannot miss this opportunity to grow proffessionally.

Can anybody help me with some ideas? I thought trying with a prepaid credit card but they don't alow to make balance transfers into it.

Thanks to everybody.

  • Hi, Im having same problem. Trying to get my Barclays loan on to Mark&Spenc card. Been refused Egg money card, so far struggling to find other hybrid card to follow Martins advice. Any help appreciated!
    thanks
  • You could try for a Virgin card, I believe they still allow you to transfer money to your current account but if you've been turned down for egg they might well turn you down as well. Have you appealed the Egg refusal?

Bear in mind that the monthly payments required on the card may be much higher than what you've been used to paying on the loan. That is to say, calculate the likely monthly payments first before making the application.
