Monday 9th July - What small DFW things will you do?!?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!:money:

Morning! Is it really Monday again??? Eurgh! and I've left my headphones at home today :(

I'm aching from the little bit of exercise I did yesterday, but i want to keep it up so will try and go for a little run tonight

List:
  • Check bank- done but £22 still missing!
  • PAD - £2 to natwest card
  • Lunch from home (lots of it, should keep me away from the shop!)
  • Lots of water
  • I finally fixed my old phone last night and found out it can be recycled for £220!! So, need to get that sorted tonight

Can't think of anything else!

    Hi guys

Back again and raring to go :p

    Here's me:
    • Bought a weekly bus ticket - using it this wknd so a £10 ticket saves me spending £12 in taxis or £8.40 on buses - may as well pay extra £1.60 and have a whole week's travel ;) Might go home for lunch a couple of days too
    • Crossing my fingers about new jobs for me and OH - a bit worried that if I get mine OH will be happy for me but also a little bit sad :( Guess the major concern for both of us just now should be trying to get out of this money mess so if I can get a better paid job then I need to try to get one.
    • Checking surveys and signed up for more MSs - Should hopefully be another £57 but only if I get chosen for them all…
    • Made HM shortbread - was dead easy so will defo do again - that's 3 weeks running I've made HM cakes/biccies
    • Free cuppas x 3 in work
    • Taking refillable water bottle to yoga
    • Thinking about my selling-my-knitting plan some more…
    • Buying the cheapest lunch I can find - won't need a lot because I've had a few free office cakes :o

Hello everyone! Lovely to see the thread was hoping over the weekend.

Big news on the job front - I've had two interviews with a great organization and they are flying me to the Gambia for a face to face meeting next week, so I hope that means it practically in the bag!! Full of eek as if it works out it will be a big pay raise (double!) and a very exciting opportunity to spend lots of time travelling part of the world I've never really been to. Would appreciate any positive wishing thoughts you all could spare!

Anyway, need to keep head down on the day to day here. OH is away for work for a few weeks (!!!) and my mum is coming for a visit on Friday (!!!).

    Today:
    - try to focus on work!
    - correspond with recruiter who is doing the salary negotiations for me
    - send in written test which I did over the weekend
    - check banking and update budget
    - call up and make last few bookings for mums visit
    - buy a pumpkin to make soup tonight
    - call vet to work out doggie passport steps
    - pick up my learners permit at driving school

    Hugs to all!
