    I've been Money Tipped!
I don't have personal experience, but would suggest you check your insurance policy and perhaps talk to your insurer as well as some won't cover you for 6 weeks after major surgery.

You can only drive when you can do an emergency stop safely. It's the same for all major surgery - unfortunately your doctor is correct and it will vary! Maybe look on a cosmetic surgery forum to get a rough average?

I've just had a hysterectomy and was told that I shouldn't drive for at least six weeks after. Some insurance companies have been known to not cover for about two months. However they told me to practice without the car started to make sure it was comfortable and were able to perform emergency stops etc.
Four weeks on, still not comfortable to drive and mine was keyhole surgery. Hope this helps some :)

DUTR-I dont know wheather your a man or a woman.
but for me its NOT about loosing weight.
if your a woman you would be aware that women after having kids, some times have an over hang.
i had it when i was 8 stone and i have it now i am 10 stone.
its booked on the 3rd sept for having removed.
(Glad the diet thing worked for you )

i had a hysterectomy done few years ago and it was 6-7 weeks before I could drive, not long had key hole surgery for gall bladder removal and was driving after 3... I would def say that you WONT be driving after 10 days...
my advice is take it easy. this is major surgery you are having and its not just the external wound you need to think about.

hope your op goes well and good luck :)
