I think Tesco's rewards had a wider range of options with them and did give more back until they cut it back as part of their "Big Price Drop" con late last year. Nectar points are quite easy to accumulate if you know how to manipulate the system though. Get the app and use their website and you can get bonus points galore. Even using your own bags gets you points that will add up in Sainsbury's.

You can get 50p (100 points) for downloading the nectar search bar and then collect points for searches, you can also earn and/or spend points at e-bay, amazon and loads of other places.
Probably not as often but like the Tesco Clubcard some Nectar rewards give you 2 or 3 times the spending power for your points.

Hmmm... How many people would be happy with someone from Nectar watching everything they search for on the web for a few pence?!

It would feel a bit like selling my soul! Not that I have anything to hide...

Most of us have already done this for Free!

Everytime you use Google they keep records of everything you search for.

Yep, usually the eshops have at least a few sroes on triple or quadruple points. I did used to make sure I went through nectar for ebay / amazon purchases but I've given up now. It doesn't earn you a great deal of points unless you're making a big purchase and it's on the special triple points. I'm on a mac, using Safari, & I seem to recall the toolbar doesn't work with this, but i shall have a look.
  • I only ever use Sainsbury's for a top up shop, and that is only usually for bread or milk. So having a voucher to save money on a min £20 shop doesn't work for me. I tend to plan ahead now so that I don't have to do top up shops as this saves me money

Thanks, that's useful to know. Subjectively it doesn't seem like that. I suppose what it tells me is that they are boith pretty silly reasons to shop in one store over another.

Totally agree. My decision on where to shop is always based on value for money and them stocking what I want to buy. I do most of my shopping in Aldi/Lidl. I just have the cards for my top up shops. I might just as well use them. I'd never choose a store just to use the card though.

I work for Sainsburys and we get some customers that have say for example a 160 extra point coupon if they spend £40. The bill after offer deductions is £38.25. So they get an extra item or two to bring it up to £40. I haven't got the guts to say '160 points is only 80p'.

If its money off like £4 or £6, that is different
