edelweiss same day veneers

Has anyone any experience of Edelweiss same day veneers or any of the dentists on here familiar with them?

I have posted here previously about veneers as my teeth get me down. They are very soft and discoloured (very yellow) as a result of tetracyclane antibiotics as a child.

They seem to be a white filling rather than a porcelain overlay.

They are preformed composite veneers ie veneers made out of White filling. The advantage is they are quick, and easy to repair if they chip , and easy to adjust in the mouth to get a good match.

The disadvantage is they will stain more than porcelain veneers and are very dependent on the skill and experience of dentist using them. Also as composite is more translucent than porcelain they may not mask bad staining as well as porcelain veneers.

Tetracycline staining can be one of the most challenging to get a good cosmetic result from and many dentists advise tooth whitening first to lighten teeth before other treatment to make a better result. However you need a dentists opinion as to what the best solution is for you rather than selecting a treatment blind that may not be your best choice.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of going to a couple of places for consultations and seeking advice but have read so many horror stories of people getting treatments that are not right for them and being left in a worse state that I was hoping to get some unbiased views rather than just the blurb on websites where they are selling the products.

My teeth are very stained so probably not suitable for that. I also have a large filling in the front of one of my front teeth so would need somethin that could deal with that.

I also have quite a bit of weight to lose and am wondering whether I should do that before getting my teeth done. I recall hearing somewhere that weight loss can lead to gum shrinkage and this could potentially affect my teeth if I had veneers. Is this true?

No weight loss doesn't cause gum shrinkage. But the factors that cause weightgain are equally bad news for your teeth.

If you are considering any cosmetic work on your teeth your oral health should be excellent and stable. I know tetracycline stains teeth but fillings are not inevitable even on teeth discoloured by tetracycline.

Why don't you ask your dentist who they would recommend for your treatment?

I will contact my dentist and see who they recommend.

My teeth are very soft in addition to the staining and as I was growing up chunks used to come off them so I have lots of fillings, a few caps and lots of uneven bits on my teeth. Over the last few years I have not needed much work done so am definitely in a better position to be looking at cosmetic remedial work. Thanks for your advice.
