What are some valuable skills I could learn by next summer?

Learn to drive. The number of times we see on here that people are limited in their choices because they can't get to a job which is too far to cycle to and public transport takes forever or doesn't go where they want to go.
I'm also finding that for many jobs it is listed as an essential criteria - but I guess that depends on the role/field and geographical area a bit too.
It might be worth your while looking at the person specs. of jobs you think that you would ultimately like to do and see what they are asking for - if there's anything there that you think you could learn through a course etc then start looking at these options.0
