Thanks for the answers re the NHS exemption I will look into the HC certificate - paid for now though £39
could have been worse I suppose...added onto the two lots of petrol I've bought (£50s worth) for the two trips this week alone...
Anyway. While I was out DD No 2 called me to tell me that Julian Graves are in administration, and everything was half price - so I trundled up Aber high street to see what the branch there had on offer. Some bake wear, and a couple of supplies for cakes, and a whole load of half price kilner jars was what I spotted. We've been pricing kilner jars to fill with xmas pressies (biscotti, florentines and the like) so snapped those up!
Also took a small 9ct gold chain that was broken beyond repair into a jewellers for scrap...£26 squiddlydoos for that!!! Note to anyone else who thinks "I've got a bit of broken bling I could sell"..take in two forms of ID with you!!! I tried to off load this last weekend in Carmarthen and got treated like a career criminal because I don't happen to carry my utility bills around with me

I'm very tempted to try the WD40 on my knackered out ankle, especially after having yet another consultant moan at me for being too young to be in this situation, and confirm that there is no miracle, just a fusion operation as far away as I can bear
When I can get into the garage and find the darned stuff, I'll report back!
 On your behalf wish I knew what to suggest sending you healing, hugs and love xxxxxxxxxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I have very little gold or jewellery in the house but at a push I think there are a couple of soverigns and someone said if I have any spare cash(say no more;))turn it into gold for the future...
I've said before I can quite understand why not everyone uses a bank or declare all they have...(remember your elderly aunt who kept a stash of money under the mattress:p)
Most are not criminals for goodness sake they are thinking of spare cash to pay for replacement of items or repairs. Trying to keep a car running, buying food, paying utility bills, repairs to the house and so on.
Basic living costs, nothing luxurious but thresholds before you can get help are so low they make you even poorer so you are practically on your knees. If you are even able to get help or have any spare cash which few have these days.
I'm not sure banks are much use these days..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Ooohh, big fun. Have been nipping about there but still haven't established what an EDC is. Help!

A while back I was thinking of selling a gold bracelet I don't like - the best prices at the time were with this lot , they get very good reviews on t'internet.
Pretty much all jewellers buy gold now Mrs C... I think they all check the daily rate, the one I went into today was offering £1 less than the other one...last week, but that may have been a fluctuation. No point keeping stuff you don't want. I have a load of bits of silver too including a rather huge chokey torc necklace I shall never wear, I might investigate flogging that too.

Just popping in to let you all know that Mr T has jars of Robinsons mincemeat down to 30p.
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=254916000
I brought a few jars last week at 64p, but have ordered another 5 jars for the cupboard of doom! DH and DS1 are addicted to mince pies and I love Nigella's non cake makers Christmas cake which uses it.
DH is on call this week, in fact he is on his way to London nowSo it makes sense to get Mr T to deliver this week's shopping. With two codes it comes with £64 with a £6 delivery cost. I think I'm going to need some bigger storage boxes.
Take care, bye for now xxxx
P.S Mrs Chip if you need a chocolate taste tester I'm willing to apply for the job0
