The only places that are employing near us are the debt collection companies as I was asked if I would like a job with them today.
I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

FUDDLE -if you would like it you can have my copy of Food for Free along with another book by Richard Mabey called Plants with a Purpose. If you want them PM me where to post to and I'll get them off to you as soon as I know. I have several other plant identification books so these are going to be more use to you than sitting on my bookshelf. £11 for the library to get you a copy to borrow seems very silly to me. I am feeling so stressed at the moment with work & home & the weather & the economy & changes to WFTC, the bedroom tax & everything. I just want to go to bed with a hot water bottle & hide from everything. (I'm probably also premenstrual with the way I'm feeling, though I don't know as I'm not at all regular.)
Feeling thoroughly sorry for myself right now, work's so busy & stressful, won't know till next Friday if things will be ok, heard from someone yesterday that she can't get WFTC anymore, & still haven't renewed mine as there's always so much to do at home as DS1 is doing nothing but sleep all day & play games & watch tv all night that I haven't even found the stuff I need to do it. So I'm panicking about that. Put washing on the line this morning & more of DS2's wet sheets in the machine, phoned DS1 at lunch time when it was still dry & said get the first lot off the line, but by the time he got downstairs (estimated 2 hours later) it was pouring with rain. So I'm going to have to tumble dry my work uniform for tomorrow. The house is a tip. I've got no energy and just feel so tearful.
Sorry for bringing everyone down. I need to go & cook dinner for DS2 & me. I don't think it helps that I'm not eating properly, but I can't face cooking properly when DS1 has done nothing in the kitchen all day. I'm so looking forward to when he's in 6th form in September, but at the same time panicking his results won't be good enough as he has no contingency plans whatsoever. As becoming a millionaire by doing nothing is not jolly likely at all. He has managed to go to beavers as young leader tonight or I'd tell him to cook dinner.0 -

Hi everyone!
I am hoping you guys will let me join in with you as we are in a similar boat to many of you, sadly.
I was made redundant on 31st May and OH was made redundant 3rd July so currently just getting the 2 lots of JSA. We have a 3.5 year old little boy and I am 28 weeks pregnant with number 2 so things are quite stressful! I got a little bit of redundancy which we are living on but OH didn't get anything as he had only been there a year.
Have been quite frugal for a number of years now thanks to MSE but obviously any more tips I can get from you lovely guys will be all to the good!
Anyway hope you don't mind me joining in and Huge hugs to those going through the same stresses as we are x xDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Spiky,
It doesn't make things better but I can quite understand why you feel as you do. And I bet there are plenty out there going through exactly the same scenario...:(
That goes for you too Pips Mum, wish it wasn't so but sadly we know that it is...wishing you well,

Spikey - Are there no sanctions you use to persuade DS1 to be a bit more helpful - removal of gaming equip or withdrawal of pocket money - I would have got a right larraping for not bringing the washing in, but I know things are somewhat different these days
. But really not fair you should be feeling so rotten and not getting help you need around the house.

As of next week DH will be unemployed too, he's not actually been able to work for the past three years but it's time for them to pass the job onto someone else. His confidence has already taken a huge knock with his ailments and illnesses so we've been proactive and spoken to the Dr about upping meds to cope with this new stage. Luckily our GP and dhs consultants are fab and they've booked him more sessions with physio and occ therapy.
I know the government massage the figures, all governements do, sometimes they include some age groups, sometimes not....nothing new there. I still maintain that this government might be pulling the purse strings tight but they wouldn't have to if the last lot didn't keep spending without thinking."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W.
