hiya
I'm in the process of weaning my DS and found the carrot stains everything - spoons, clothes! I can't get the stain of the spoons or little Avent cups I use, I scrub everything and steam serlalise (sp) it so its just a stain. I have started rinsing everything straight away after use or giving them a wipe with a baby wipe when I'm out and that helps.

HI, I have a tip which sounds strange, but may work.
Oil. As in vegetable, sunflower, olive etc.
My food processor is white, and in the destructions it says that if you shred carrot it will stain orange and that all you need to do is wipe it with cooking oil and it comes off.
I tried it and it worked on the food processor, so it might work on your bits?0 -
A baby can be weaned using an ordinary teaspoon0

Yup, Thriftlady is not having a funny turn;) I weaned my three using regular teaspoons. When they were teething I would keep a stash of spoons in the fridge and rub their gums with them
WARNING...OFF...TOPIC
Does anyone remember being 'burnt' with a teaspoon as a child. My Dad would regularly stir his tea with a teaspoon and then when you were not looking hold the spoon against your arm or neck to make you jump.
As a bit of tomfoolery I did this the other night to Senior MATHLETT...well, the comotion that ensued, you would have thought I had took a blowtorch to his bare flesh:eek:
I tried to explain that in the 60/70's burning your kids with hot metal kitchen implements was good fun not child abuse. He gave us that look that only a teenager can, Mrs MATH and I were helpless:rotfl: kidz of today eh...Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

This happened in a storyline in eastenders last week.. except it wasn't done as a joke, it was done on purpose out of spite and malice by a woman to a child.. Maybe your child watched that episode and freaked out? or has heard about it at school :rotfl:0 -
I wouldn't worry about the spoon being stained. It's only food and as long as it's clean, it's OK. You'll find that as you introduce other foods into her diet eg tomatoes, curry (yes, my DS1 loved it from very early) that your plastic spoons and pots you use to store/freeze the food in, will become orange. A bit like when they come out of the DW
Enjoy your baby and to heck with orange teaspoons
BTW MATH - we enjoyed the hot teaspoon trick in the 6th form at school, when we were allowed to make hot drinks at break times. Ah, the simplicity of life back then ........0 -

WOW - what a coincidence. Maybe he did hear about it at school -we don't allow Eastenders on at chez MATH as our own lives are depressing enough, without witnessing the misery of others:rotfl:Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

i have used normal teaspoons on all 3 of mine, i dont buy baby food bowls either find my normal ones are just as good and can go in dishwasher, only ever bought plastic plates/bowls once they are older just so for the fact they are harder to breakDFW nerd club number 039'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' :money: i will be debt free aug 2010
