New Gas boiler for flat

Does anyone have an idea how much a new gas boiler should cost fully fitted to a 2 bed flat sized house, and any recommendations of someone for the Carrickfergus area. Had a rough quote of £1600ish, but saw them in B+Q for £600 and thought £1000 removal and fitting a wee bit steep? (not that B&Q cheap either)

It is simply a replacement boiler and not a whole new system (i.e. removal of E7)?

If not and that includes the scrappage then it is not at all bad... do not judge anything from B&Q because they will not be the same quality of boilers. Also remember that you should not (cannot?) do this DIY because of gas safe regs and there is the additional step of 'refurbishing' your existing system. This means flushing, cleaning and also may well include installation of new valves, filters etc.

Hi, I had a new boiler fitted a a 2 bed flat about 18 months ago. It cost me about £1200. That was for a Bosch boiler (which is a little more expensive but has a 2 year warranty) a new flu pipe was fittted, the system (radiator system) was cleaned/flushed out, & the whole thing was checked & certified. Regarding installing, the phoenix website has a list of certified installers by area. The guy I used is on the list. I have used him for the last 5 years for servicing & would have no problems reccomending him. PM me if you want his name.
