They are just debt collector. Not bailiffs. They have no real powers.
If you can explain where/when/how this debt came to be, then people may be able to suggest a way forward.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

If the debt is yours and it is less than 6 years since you made a payment then I would write them a letter offering installments. Be honest with yourself about what you can afford and say "I can only afford and therefore offer" in the letter. They will look up your credit file to determine if you are telling the truth about what you can afford. (They have mine anyway).
Make it abundantly clear that you will only correspond in writing.
If they accept the installments then stick to them religiously. The next step for this debt could be a CCJ application.BSC No 248

Or offer a full and final settlement. Really depends what your overall debt situation is like. They may well accept 25% of the amount they are asking for.
If you have lots of other debts though you should post an SOA as sorting one out of many is really no use.

Do you know what the debt is for? And is it for the right amount?SimplyGood wrote: »i got a phone call today from the dlc and they asked for my adress and email adress why was this? and told me i had to pay half of my payment by the end of next week and the other half by the end of the month

Don't let yourself be intimidated into paying random amounts of money for no good reason other than they are demanding money on a short time scale..Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. whatever you do don't give them your details until you are sure you owe them money.
Dont let them scare you.. thats how they get money off people.. they are just normal guys sitting in a call center reading scripts of a screen.
Once they have confirmed your details only offer what you can afford.. they will probably reject your first offer but stick at it, they cant force you to pay more than you can.0
