Loan Question

I'm wanting a loan of £3000 towards debt consilidation and maybe a cheap holiday away in the easter break.

I've already found the loan I want, but I have a problem with the parents.

They are, what can you say "paranoid" about debt. And they'd probably chuck me out if they knew about the loan.

Would a lender still borrow me money if I were to use an alternative address ie: Another family member? Would my "alternative" address be at risk if I were to falter with payments? (I won't of course)

Pardon my ignorance, I've never taken a loan out before.

Cheers for any incoming help.

  • Maybe your parents have a point. Debt will make you miserable in the long run and will (at some point in the future) restrict your life.

So, you are living at home with your parents and still need to borrow £3000 for a holiday? If that is the case, you cannot really afford it! I wouldn't get into this much debt for a short time away.

Dont understand, Do your parents OPEN your personal mail ???

Regarding using a different address think its highly unlikely you would be accepted unless you were on the electoral role at the given address.

Also agree with previous post, as I wish I was living with my parents now as I would be loaded big time :) If only I could turn back the clock

Make the most of saving while living at your parents as it will be a missive benefit for your future.

    Good luck

ps: Snowballing is a fantastic way to reduce your debts without taking on any more !! See debt free wanabee for advice and post SOA

  • You're talking about debt consolidation and borrowing more money to go on holiday in one sentence how dumb is that! If you can't afford to pay off the original debt in the first place, you certainly can't afford to go on holiday, I'm with Sanfrancisco pay debt off first, then celebrate with holiday later.l
