reclaiming ppi

sorry i should of put this in my older post, can anyone reccomend a company to try and reclaim ppi to pay off my debt, i am on a dmp so just want to reduce the balance i owe really.

    You can do it yourself. Phone each lender with your account details and ask if PPI was applied. If so, write a letter to each using the templates on the website and ask for the refunds and the interest.

    Bear in mind that they are likely to apply any refunds directly to your debts rather than give you the cash, if you have outstanding sums.

    A company will charge you anywhere between 20-40% of the refunds to do this - why pay someone to make a call/send a letter for you?
    Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

    Hi Helen83,

    I personally wouldn't use a company to do this for you as they can take quite a hefty chunk from any money you may be due.

    There was a post on this board earlier today from someone who'd finally become debt free and had claimed PPI with the help of this site.

    Pop over to the PPI reclaiming board which will guide you thro the process.
