Hi

I have had two letters from wescot. Both say the accounts have been settled. I know i owe them over 10k from them but the letter says paid.

Do i carry on paying?

Tempting I know but I would. You just know this is gonna come back and bite you on the behind when they realise their !!!!-up. Unless a fairy godmother has paid it off for you, you know what you owe them.

If it went to court what would happen lol

they would say someone made a mistake. that the mistake was 'obvious', so you cannot rely on it. that the person who sent the letter didnt have the authority to write off the debt or issue a final account statement.

might be best to query the account status with the original creditor. wescot dont usually buy debts so this could just be the account being sold on to a 3rd part for real
