Egg Card

can someone point me in the right direction....

in 2006 ish i got into a bit of debt when my relationship broke down and left me in the house ( mortgage) with two children....

citizen advice were very helpful to sort out over 20,000 of debt...

Egg loan was offered approx £4.00 a month ( in line with my budget at the time)...this has now been increased to £20 a month....but the debt was around £6000.....so I will be over 80 when the debt is cleared at this rate....

the debt has been with collectors for many years...(arc and arrow)

I have sent off all my PPI claims not knowing if I had them or not.......egg have offered me a sum only approx £400

the question is....If I had PPI then why was this not brought to my attention and explained that surely I could of claimed.....hence not being able to make a payments.....

This is the only debt I have left now

do I have a case

thank you in advance

Do you mean a claim on the PPI policy for them to cover payments on the debt? (rather than a reclaim).

If you had PPI then it is usually the person's responsibility to make a claim, if they suffer from an event covered by the PPI - such as loss of your job.
Did you lose your income or similar that would have meant you were eligible for a claim on the PPI? A change in circumstances such as splitting up with a partner would not be covered.

Have egg provided any information as to how they have calculated the figure of £400? Have they provided information as to how much PPI you were charged?
