What to wear ?

So a bit of a trivial question for some, but . .

I have been invited to attend an open day for DP World and have selected and early morning session to attend, it's at 9am on a Saturday morning, do you think they will be expecting suited and booted or just smart.

The ad states -

'The roles at the port are a mixture of manual, semi-skilled, skilled, supervisory and management roles including lashers, quay crane drivers, electricians, mechanics, IT professionals, HR specialists, terminal planners and other roles required to operate, maintain and manage Britain’s new global shipping port'

What do you think, BTW I would be looking at the planning role/s

I would. It's always better to be the smartest candidate rather than the most casually dressed one. It gives the impression that you are taking it seriously, are professional and really want the job.

Go suited and booted, first impressions count. I have had to interview and recruit many people over the years and this still holds good today. If there are two candidates equally qualified for the post I can guarantee that as long as you are not strange in some way or rude etc etc etc you will always get the job over the scruffy or 'casual' dresser. Also make sure you are early, thats 'early' not just on time.
