Rossendale bailiff Help

My husband had a missed phone call last night from rossendales he called back this morning and was told there was an £80 council tax bill to be paid with charges it was now £130.
He made a £10 payment but was then told that a new council tax debt of around £400 was alsso on the account.
He asked about it and they say they cant give any information as it has been sent to a bailiif (same company) and we have to wait for him to contact us. Surely this would mean an extra charge could be applied.
Im also worried that our car is outside and i need it to go to work (self employed) but its in my husbands name.
Can anyone answer any of my queries.
Thanks

Whose name is the debt in? You could offer to buy the car from your husband if the debt is in his sole name.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
