Just quoting from my diary as I MUST get to bed now - night night guys :beer:Evening everyone - posting now a I go to bed and won't be online probably until Saturday evening. Everything is done now ready for tomorrow. My Big Sis has been working so hard to make everything tidy for tomorrow. She was cleaning while I was at the hairdresers yesterday afternoon and scrubbing the floor while I took more rubbish to the tip today. Her hubbie drove down this afternoon bringing my brother and neice and we all went out for a meal tonight, which was lovely. Meal was very good and we chatted and laughed all night
I have my outfit all ready for in the morning - a dress   Not often you see me in one of thoseand I have my case almost all packed for going away afterwards with Kit, Steve & Andy. The details of the service are all confirmed as is the catering. One of my cousins is flying back from Gibraltar where she now lives, and other cousins are picking her up at the airport, plus 2 cousins from Newcatle are driving down. The cousin from Gib is the one who arranged and paid for that fantastic luxury holiday of a lifetime two years ago on the Orient Express Royal Scotsman to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary and it is testament to the impression Alan made on everyone on that trip that these cousins are coming tomorrow. On the first evening, he grabbed a massive bowl of cherries and went round everyone offering them around which got everyone relaxed and talking
My brother is getting comfy on the sofa bed in the living room and I am just checking in on here on my laptop in bed. My Sister and BiL and my niece are checked into their room at the pub we are having the w'ake' at tomorrow. I have been putting together a montage of photos of Alan this afternoon which show his changing hairstyle from afro perm of the 1970/80's, thinning hair of the 90's, to the no 1 clippers and shaved head of the 2000's, and with beard and without, plus his up and down battle with his weight from 20st to 12 1/2 stThe smiles, the laughs, the puzzled looks and the drunken sleepy look - all there :rotfl: :rotfl:I enjoyed putting it together today
And so, tomorrow is the big day of the cremation service and I don't know wwhat I feel really. It is going to be a celebration of his life of 62 years, half of which we have been married, with a further 3 years I knew him before. A long time ............. but not long enoughI just wish it could have been longer
Going to post this on the elite thread and then get to sleep as will be up early tomorrow to get showered and ready before anyone arrives
Goodnight friends - I know you will be thinking of me tomorrow, but I will be thinking of all of you then too, of your support and love, and it will see me through. I am so proud of Alan, the way he dealt with all of this. The dignity he showed. Tomorrow, once more and for the last time I will say 'Goodnight wangel, I love you'Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12
